Gerry Lewis is a special individual with a very special talent of helping both young and old to get excited about science.Gerry comes from a very humble background. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh's North Side. He is the oldest of six children. He attended Northview Elementary. While in the fifth grade, there was one particular science teacher who he says "changed his life". He inspired Gerry to stop fooling around and begin to take his talent and intellect seriously. This would have major implications later on in his life.
Gerry continued on to Perry High School where he was not only Student Council President, but also a City Basketball All Star, (Avg. 36pts -7 reb). He then attended Community College of Allegheny County where he continued to learn and star at basketball. After completing school, Gerry joined the United States Armed Forces and served for six years.
Upon returning home from the service, Gerry held a few odd jobs until his thirst for science was realized. Gerry landed a job at Pittsburgh Testing Laboratory, as a Sample Preparation Technician for the Chemical Lab. Gerry was now back with his first love Science. Of course testing samples and running cool science experiments were natural for him. He was using his talent that his 5th grade science teacher spoke of many times ago. Several years passed and Gerry's hunger for science was still alive. So his search for science landed him a job as a Technician Specialist with a fortune 500 company. Gerry joined the company's Science for Schools program as a volunteer, and quickly became their biggest volunteer. Winning awards for teaching science. Gerry found himself all over the United States performing his science show for large crowds. After performing and perfecting his show for many years. Gerry felt the need to showcase his science show to all students rich or poor. Leaving his job with the company. Gerry started his own business called Science Rocks! Now Gerry is available to perform one of the greatest American science shows that has ever been seen at your event because Science Rocks.
